Meet the Team

AMY HOBSON

Co-Founder and Managing Partner

Amy is a joint Founding Partner of The Wellbeing Collective and takes a lead on client relationship management, innovation and business development.

Having worked 22 years in the NHS Amy’s direct work now focuses on Collaborative System Redesign and People Development. Amy has been a Nurse, Manager and Director within Learning Disability, Mental Health, Social Care, Forensic, Commissioning, Children and Young People’s Services, and has also worked as a Consultant for the NHS Institute with McKinsey & Company. Amy is a coach, NLP practitioner, mediator and facilitator whose work is underpinned by strengths-based people development approaches. She works with individuals, teams and systems across the UK.

JOAN BROCK

Co-Founder

Joan is a joint Founding Partner of The Wellbeing Collective and takes a lead on many of the business processes as well as undertaking direct work and supervising others.

Joan specialised in hospital-based services and worked in the NHS for 33 years within Mental Health and Secure Forensic Hospital Care as a Specialist Nurse, Clinical Matron, Hospital Manager and Senior Nurse Advisor. Joan focuses on the clinical quality and standards work within The Wellbeing Collective and leads on Service Improvement, Care and Treatment Reviews as well as Relational Security Training. Joan uses a range of asset-based approaches such as Appreciative Inquiry in enabling sustainable change.

TIM COUPLAND

Company Secretary and Consultant

Tim is a Mental Health Nurse with 30 years’ experience of working in health care and NHS settings. In recent years, he has worked across quality and service development, governance and senior nurse roles. He is a skilled facilitator and trainer, good at taking a strategic, yet ‘practical reality’ focus to areas of clinical practice. He is passionate about and interested in stakeholder engagement, organisational development, culture change and innovative service planning. Tim provides essential infrastructure support around governance and assurance within The Wellbeing Collective.

As well as being a Registered Nurse, he holds a business degree and a number of other professional qualifications – he is currently undertaking an MSc in Health Sciences focusing on areas such as the workforce resilience, ‘human factors’ in healthcare and organisational learning.

SHARON OUTHWAITE

Head of Operations and Consultant

Sharon has a passion for working alongside people, exploring and enabling them to develop their capacity and resilience to meet the demands/requirements of their role. She has experience of working at a senior level in both health and social care services, including integrated health and social care community services. Sharon works with teams, facilitating them to explore issues and build upon their strengths whilst developing their leadership potential. Sharon provides essential infrastructure support around day to day operations within The Wellbeing Collective.

Sharon draws on a range of approaches that she has developed through her career. Her background is as a Learning Disability Nurse, she has a Master’s Degree in Advanced Professional Practice and is a trained in work place mediation.

BECCA GODFREY

Business Development Lead

Becca has been a Project Manager for nearly 10 years, with experience in the public, private and third sectors as a change and projects expert. PRINCE2, LEAN and ITIL trained, Becca has experience in complex culture change, setting KPIs, programme evaluations and communications.

Becca’s passion is working on bespoke programmes that make a positive and sustainable business change.

AMANDA CLARK

Programme Development Lead and Consultant

Amanda has worked as a Psychologist for over 20 years in challenging and demanding environments. She brings a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience in working with teams and individuals to improve performance and overall well-being. Amanda works collaboratively with clients with an ability to distil clarity from complex situations and to find creative solutions. Amanda is a workplace mediator who has mentored and coached people to navigate around areas of conflict within their team, to enable them to perform more efficiently. Amanda has a range of qualifications including BSc (Hons) Psychology, Clin.Psy.D and PG Dip. Cognitive Therapy – Oxford. 

MAXINE FIELD

Consultant – OD Facilitator

Maxine’s background is originally in HR & Policy, in particular 8 years of experience within HRHQ of the civil service, Ministry of Justice and Tribunal services. With a love of working with people & a passion for Appreciative Inquiry & Co- production, she has expanded upon this skill set & now manages a development worker role providing project & workshop support, planning, guidance & facilitation across a variety of private, public and voluntary sectors.

NATASHA MAW

Consultant

Natasha Maw is a trainer, facilitator and executive coach. She has worked in a number of public and private sector organisations helping experts to develop as leaders, including at the BBC, Zurich University Hospital, Chatham House and Endemol Shine. Currently much of her work is with healthcare organisations. Natasha uses a coaching approach in her work with an emphasis on self-reflection, collaboration and applied project-based learning.  She works as a Visiting Lecturer at Cass Business School where she teaches personal development to doctors on the Executive Masters in Medical Leadership. She is qualified as an NLP Master Practitioner and is a member of the Association for Coaching.  She is an accredited coach with the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management and a trained mediator and facilitator.

ANNA LEWIS

Consultant

Anna has worked for nearly 18 years in NHS mental health and social care in the south of England, from graduate management trainee to executive director. Her interests lie in assets-based approaches to recovery and leadership rooted in the values of co-production. She combines this with her passion for improvement science, developed throughout her career and enhanced through training with the world-renowned Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Boston.

Anna now works independently with teams, services and systems across the country, supporting strategic and cultural development in complex environments through evidence-based quality improvement approaches. Her roles include Senior Consultant with the ImROC programme and CQC Specialist Advisor (Mental Health).

MICHAEL MERGLER

Consultant

Michael believes that people have an incredible capacity to work together to improve the world.   Through a focus on the growth of relationships and trust within a team, he facilitates meaningful improvement.  He is passionate about working with individuals and teams to support change; with a particular emphasis on culture and leadership.

Michael has over 30 years’ experience in NHS mental health services; from direct clinical service provision to Director level strategic leadership. With an MSc in Change Management, Michael has a wealth of experience in utilising frameworks and theory to find a path through the uncertainty and chaos that accompanies change initiatives.

LAURA PEMBERTON

Consultant

Laura has over 20 years experience in mental health care. Since qualifying as a registered mental health nurse (BN Hons) she has undertaken a range of clinical and leadership roles. Laura is currently working as Head of Nursing and Quality for Specialised Services.

Over the last ten years Laura has worked in the practice and people development arena, enjoying the various team building, coaching and leadership developments.

Laura is passionate about people and human interactions, focusing on the strengths the individuals already possess. Laura has a range of people development qualifications including MBTI Practitioner, MBTI Step 2, FIRO, NLP Diploma and undertaking Practitioner, NLP Coaching Diploma, DTLLS Teaching Diploma and Registered Work Place Mediator.

SARAH BAINES

Consultant

Sarah trained as a registered general and mental health nurse and has worked within the NHS for over 35 years in a variety of health settings. She has a Master’s degree in Mental Health Studies and qualified as a Non-medical prescriber during her time working as a Nurse Consultant in Substance Misuse/Mental Health and Assertive Outreach services.  Sarah has held senior nurse leadership roles including head of nursing and allied health professionals, associate director of nursing for adult/children forensic services and operational roles within older people’s mental health. Sarah is passionate about leadership and developing people through facilitative and coaching forms. Her skills include motivational interviewing, solution focused personal development and developing staff through reflection, coaching, supervision and mentoring.

RICHARD BARRITT

Consultant

Richard’s career started in the construction industry and moved on to supported housing, becoming Head of Policy and Planning with Stonham Housing in the 1990’s before leading Solent Mind as it developed into the country’s largest and most diverse local charity. He completed 20 years as CEO in March 2017. With a passion for developing the resourcefulness of the health and social sector through cross-sector partnerships, Richard is now developing a portfolio of work in the NHS and 3rd sector.

He is a Non-Executive Board member with a particular responsibility for patient and public engagement, he works with organisations on patient engagement, leads a local charity seeking a merger partner as interim CEO; and works with The Wellbeing Collective on leadership and reflective practice.

DR LAWRENCE PATTERSON

Consultant

Lawrence is a practising Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the NHS. He completed Doctoral training at the University of Southampton in 2010 and is HCPC registered as well as being a member of the British Psychological Society. Lawrence specialises in working with people affected by learning disabilities and mental health problems. His current practice is in the field of forensic services in hospital and community settings.

He has a keen interest in facilitating positive change in teams and systems across health and social care organisations. Lawrence has skills in clinical leadership and collaborative working.  Holding a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychological Research Methods means Lawrence is skilled in data collection, analysis and presentation including qualitative and quantitative methods.

HILARY CHARLTON

Consultant

Hilary is an Occupational Therapist by background and has over 25 years’ experience working in a variety of clinical and leadership roles within the NHS. She has particular expertise in service development and has led on the introduction of a number of innovative recovery and employment initiatives at one of the country’s leading mental health providers; South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. She has also held a leadership role at the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and is an experienced practitioner in psychodynamic counselling.

NICK CLARK

Consultant

Nick specialises in leadership and team development and helping individual leaders to develop an understanding of organisational dynamics to enhance their personal effectiveness at work.

Nick has over 20 years of experience working in the field of mental health, with a successful background in NHS senior management.  Nick also works as a facilitator and organisational development consultant in the NHS and with local authorities.

He is a graduate of the Tavistock’s D10 Masters programme in ‘Consulting and leading in organisations: psychodynamics and systemic approaches’.  Nick has also worked as a Group Relations Conference training group staff member.

CALUM MEIKLEJOHN

Consultant

Calum Meiklejohn MSc Nursing, Diploma in Clinical Teaching (Nursing) has worked in a number of roles, Clinician, Practice Development, Teacher, Manager and Director. The majority of Calum’s career has been in Forensic Mental Health settings. He is an experienced, knowledgeable and respected leader and manager with good interpersonal, management and communication skills.  He has a proven track record in the improvement of service delivery within mental health services and consistently achieves excellent results by understanding issues, positive team-working and keeping the needs of the service user at the centre of decision making.
